There was once a young boy who reached school age. He wanted to go to school but his father wouldn’t let him. His father said,” School is expensive. The fees are too high. I would rather use the money to buy a donkey.” A teacher at the school heard this so he went to the boy’s home to talk to the father.
The teacher said,” I understand that the fees are too high and if you send your boy to school you won’t be able to buy a donkey. However if you don’t send your son to school you will have two donkeys.” The father was puzzled and replied,” No, I will only have one donkey.”
The teacher explained,” If a person grows up with no education then that person will become no better than a donkey. So you will have two donkeys.”
After thinking about this, the father let his son go to school.
